Dog Show held in state capital yesterday

Bhubaneswar, Dec 12: The 52nd and 53rd all breeds championship dog show was held on Sunday. Judges for the show were from outside the country. Robert Lang from Germany judged the GSD show while Chakkapan Chantarasmee judged the labrador show. Michael Camac from Australia and Alex Yu-feng Zee from Taiwan judged Sunday’s shows. For dog lovers here, Kennel club had brought the much awaited dog shows where different breeds of dogs from across the country gathered and competed with each other to showcase their special training.

This year the event started on Friday with a special show on German Shepherd Dogs that showcased their agility and obedience. This is the second specialty show of GSD confederation, Kalinga chapter. As many as 70 such GSDs had taken part in the opening day event. During the show veterinarians carried out checkup of the dogs before the shows. On the second day of the event was for Labrador Retrievers where these dogs performed various skills to enthrall the animal lovers. Besides, other breeds also had gathered to take part in the agility and obedience test. As per organizers, Geeny a Belgian Malinois dog from Tata steels won the first prize while Bhola bhagat a labrador from Odisha won second prize and Josh another Belgian Malinois from Tata came third. Twenty-nine labradors had taken part in the exclusive labrador event while 23 different breed dogs had participated in the agility and obedience test.
