Odisha Governor awards President’s Police Medals to officers on Republic Day in Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar, Jan 27: On the day of the 68th Republic Day, the Odisha Governor, SC Jamir at a state level function held at the Jayadev Bhawan here awarded the President’s Police Medals on 16 police personnel including two IPS officers. Around 11 police personnel were given the Police Medals for Meritorious Service by the Governor during the function that included Ajit Kumar Dash, Kharvela Nagar IIC Sanjeeb Kumar Satpathy, Inspector (Special Branch) Biswanath Tarini, Vigilance SI Bhargabi Prusty and Vigilance ASI Anjan Kumar Mishra. The Odisha CM, Naveen Patnaik also attended the function. The IG Police, (Railways) Vinaytosh Mishra and Inspector CID, Prasanna Kumar Dash were given the Police Medal for distinguished service, Malkangiri SP Mitrabhanu Mahapatra and Kalahandi SP Brijesh Kumar Ray were awarded the Police Medal for Gallantry. Sergeant Chandra Sekhar Dash and Sub-Inspector Rabindra Sabar were also given the Police Medal for Gallantry. The Central government had earlier announced the names of police personnel to receive President’s Police Medals for distinguished service, meritorious service and gallantry.
