Berhampur, Mar 24: Today, to protest against the hike in electricity tariff brought about by the OERC, along with the BJP Yuva Morcha, the general public were also seen protesting thus demanding a reversal in the decision of the commission. One of the citizen of Chhatrapur in Ganjam stated that as it is the currrent rates in power are already too much and an increase in it will be worse. The government must at first collect the current bills of various companies which are pending. Other citizens also said the same and demanded the reversal of the government’s decision. They also demanded that the issue must be discussed in the Assembly. Collection of pending bills should be undertaken at first. Notably, public also raised questions that increase in rates would adversely effect farmers and poor people to the maximum.
