Patnagarh, May 11: In a tragic incident at Changharia village in Bolangir district, a man said to be mentally ill, allegedly hacked his wife to death with an axe and hung himself inside the house last night.
Identified as Sukanath Bariha, the deceased’s body was found hanging inside the house early today while his wife’s body was lying on the floor drenched completely in blood, said sources.
After finding the doors and windows of the room shut, their kin suspected something unnatural. Following to this the family broke open the room and found the bodies, after which they informed the police, who after reaching the spot recovered the two bodies and registered two separate cases.
Notably, Sukanath was under treatment for his mental illness. The duo had a fight last night following to which the former hacked his wife inside locked doors and hung himself too, said sources.
