Rourkela, May 15: In connection to the death case of Amrita Singh, today the police arrested three persons including two siblings of the deceased Amrita. Singh was allegedly throttled to death on charges of honour killing in the city. The brother-in-law has also been nabbed in the case. They have also said to have burnt the body of Singh in a bid to destroy evidence. They committed the crime in honour of their family as Singh married a person belonging to a different religion. The matter came to fore when the deceased girl’s husband, Nasim Khan lodged a complaint with the police on May 11 alleging that her family members have killed her and discreetly cremated the body without informing him. Notably in 2016, Nasim and Amrita had got married when the latter’s parents were against their relationship. But, it was on the request of Singh’s in-laws that Nasim had allowed Amrita to visit her parents for a wedding function.
