Salipur, May 29: Today suspected AQIS operative and terrorist Abdul Rehman has returned to the Tihar jail in Delhi following his appearance within tight security at the Salipur Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) court. In absence of the actual JMFC who has been on leave, the judge holding the JMFC court charge directed the STF of the Odisha Crime Branch to produce Rehman again on Jun 12 granting him a 14-day remand. Rehman had been earlier brought to the Salipur court from Tihar jail by a joint team of Delhi and Odisha police. The STF will submit the case papers in the court later today.

Notably, on Dec 15, 2015, Rehman was arrested by a joint team of the Delhi Police special cell and the Commissionerate Police from Paschimkachcha village in Cuttack following a raid for running a illegal madrasa and being involved in recruiting members for AQIS. The Salipur JMFC directed the STF to make Rehman appear on May 29 during his deposition in the court on May 15 2017.
