NALCO CMD lauds Sunita Lakra for being selected as Captain of Women’s Hockey team

 Bhubaneswar: May 05NALCO CMD Dr. Tapan Kumar Chand appreciated India’s most talented footballer and former Captain of women’s national team Sradhanjali Samantaray for guiding and steering Rising Students Club of Odisha to victory in the Indian Women’s League 2017-18. Sradhanjali Samantaray, who was appointed as the Assistant Coach of India’s U-14 & U-16 Girls Football team, led a key role in bringing laurels to Odisha by guiding and motivating the young footballers to an emphatic victory over Eastern Sporting Union, Manipur to bag the coveted Indian Women’s League. Sradhanjali is the assistant coach of Rising Students Club, Odisha.

Dr. Tapan Kumar Chand, CMD, NALCO, said, ‘’We are very proud of Sradhanjali Samantaray for helping brand Odisha shine in the sporting arena.’’ It may be noted Sradhanjali Samantaray is an employee of the Navratna Company NALCO.

 

NALCO CMD Dr. Chand also praised another Nalconian and Hockey player Sunita Lakra for being selected as the Captain of the Indian Women’s Team at Asian Champions Trophy to be held in South Korea and wished the Indian team all the success.

The other Nalco Kharavela Awards for significant achievements in Odissi, being handed over to Ms Kshyanaprava Parida, Ms. Suhag Nalini Das and Shri Nityananda Das. Shri Balvinder Kumar, IAS, Secretary, Ministry of Mines, Govt of India, handed over the award, in the presence of Dr. Tapan Kumar Chand, CMD of Nalco.
