Odisha Guv Jamir urges teachers to be drivers of change

Bhubaneswar, Nov 29: Odisha Governor SC Jamir has laid emphasis on teachers adopting changes to benefit the students.

Urging the teachers to be the drivers of change, Jamir said at the third convocation of Centurion University held at Paralakhemundi in Gajapati District on Saturday that times are changing and teachers need to adopt to the change so that students are benefitted.

Prof Allison Galloway, Provost, University of California, Santa Cruz (USA) advised the new graduates to “follow their heart, hold on to their values and look for open doors”. She stressed the importance of finding something one loves to do and working it into earning one’s livelihood.

Wendy Brooks, Managing Director, Wendy Brooks Consulting Pty Limited urged the students to look up ways and means to build an enterprise. “Entrepreneurship is the only way that wil create new opportunities, teach you how to be prepared to take considered risks and always look for better ways to do things”, she said.

President of the University Mukti Mishra said that the University is striving to build an ecosystem with difference, differently and shall continue to do right things and things right.”

According to a release, Centurion University has built a robust reputation for designing and offering education that is intrinsically interlinked with human values and livelihoods.  The University’s unique teaching and learning model, which integrates skills development with higher education, has earned prominent mention in the NITI Aayog, “Task Force Report on Skill Development 2015”.

The varsity recently was accorded Grade-A ranking by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
