‘Live up to Govt’s expectation to mitigate adverse effects of drought’

Bhubaneswar, Nov 29: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has asked the State government officials to live up to the expectation to mitigate the adverse effects of drought and reduce the financial distress on rural masses.

“I would like all of you to work committedly for successful implementation of our programme in rural areas,” he said the Project Directors, DRDA officials and Block Development officers at a two-day workshop cum training programme.

Patnaik said about 85 percent of our population lives in rural areas and their welfare is of prime importance for the Government.

Warning the officials, he said the targets, will have to be achieved without fail and under achievement will not be tolerated.
