J & K Terror Attack: Two CRPF Jawans from Odisha among Martyrs

Bhubaneswar: February 15: Out of 45 Jawans killed in the worst-ever terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, two Jawans from Odisha sacrificed their life for the service of the nation. The two brave Sons of Odisha were identified as Ct/GD Prasanna Kumar Sahu of 61 Battalions of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Manoj Kumar Behera, posted as the constable in the CRPF.

Martyred Odia jawan Prasanna Kumar Sahu was a resident of Shikhar village under Nuagaon police limits of Jagatsinghpur district and Manoj Kumar Behera belonged to Niali area in Cuttack district in the State.

After the residents heard about the martyrdom of Sahu, the entire village plunged into grief  and his wife & mother were inconsolable after hearing the incident. Equally, Behera’s parents, wife and one year old daughter became speechless.

The terror attack took place around 3.15 p.m. on Thursday when a ‘Fidayeen’ bomber belonging to the Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) terror outfit rammed an explosive laden SUV into a Bus carrying CRPF troopers in Lethpora area of Pulwama District on the Srinagar-Jammu Highway.

The Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) claimed responsibility for the horror and released a video clip of the suicide bomber, a ‘commander’ identified as Adil Ahmad Dar, which it claimed was shot before the young man carried out the strike in Lethpora, about 30 km from Srinagar.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the nation in condemning the horror.
