Bhubaneswar: April 03: In order to contain community infection and to aggressively trace the contacts of 5th and 6th COVID-19 Positive patients and to intensify testing, Government of Odisha has ordered for total Shut Down for next 48 Hours (8 PM of 3/04/2020 to 8 PM of 05/04/2020) in the jurisdiction of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation & few neighboring areas, Cuttack Municipal Corporation and Bhadrak Municipal Area.
More stringent restrictions have been imposed. All passes issued for the lockdown period have been suspended. Chief Secretary and Director General, Police of State, have informed through a Press Briefing today and general public has been requested to extend similar co-operation during Shut Down Period.
As briefed by Subroto Bagchi, Chief Spokesperson of Government of Odisha on COVID-19, the Shut Down order will be executed in Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation Area and Gram Panchayats/Villages namely, Basuaghai, Shisupal, Lingipur,Ranasinghpur, Tamando, Malipada, Andharua, Kalarahanga, Raghunathpur, Barimunda, Daruthenga/Chandaka, Dhauli, Janla, Sijua, Balakati (Pratap Sasan), Balianta, Jagannathpur and Pradhan Sahi of Jatni Block. Besides, entire area under Cuttack Municipal Corporation and Bhadrak Municipality has been included in the Shut Down.
All shops including those dealing in Grocery, Vegetable, Fruit, Milk etc., all Business Centres and other establishments will remain closed. Only Health, Police and some limited emergency Services will be available in the Shut Down period.
As briefed, the Medicine Stores identified by Municipal Authorities/Drug Controller will remain open.
Persons violating the Shut Down regulations will be taken into 14 days’ quarantine and will be prosecuted under Disaster Management Act-2005 & IPC.
