Umesh Swain Passes Away At 74
Former Balikuda MLA Umesh Chandra Swain, a senior BJD leader, passed away today at the age of 74. As reported, he died of heart attack today morning.
Umesh Swain was born into a respectable family of Machhagaon village in Machhagaon panchayat of Balikuda block.
Sri Swain was a four-time MLA. He was elected as Legislator in Janata Party ticket in 1977 and later in 1990 under the Janata Dal. Further, he joined Congress and successfully contested MLA elections for two terms from the segment in 2000 and 2004.
He resigned from Congress in 2014.
Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik condoled the demise of Swain and sad, former Balikuda MLA, will always be remembered for his selfless service and welfare works for the society.
ବାଲିକୁଦା ନିର୍ବାଚନମଣ୍ଡଳୀର ପୂର୍ବତନ ବିଧାୟକ ଉମେଶଚନ୍ଦ୍ର ସ୍ୱାଇଁଙ୍କ ଦେହାନ୍ତ ବିଷୟରେ ଜାଣି ମୁଁ ଦୁଃଖିତ। ଜନପ୍ରତିନିଧି ଭାବେ ତାଙ୍କ ନିଃସ୍ୱାର୍ଥପର ସେବା ଓ ଜନ କଲ୍ୟାଣକାରୀ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ପାଇଁ ସେ ସର୍ବଦା ସ୍ମରଣୀୟ ରହିବେ। ତାଙ୍କ ଅମର ଆତ୍ମାର ସଦଗତି କାମନା କରିବା ସହ ପରିବାର ସଦସ୍ୟଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ମୋର ସମବେଦନା ଜଣାଉଛି।
