Cyclone Jawad Getting Week Gradually
The Cyclonic Storm ‘JAWAD’ (Pronounced as JOWAD) over Westcentral Bay of Bengal moved nearly northwards with a speed of 06 kmph during past 06 hours and lay centered at 0830 hrs IST of today, the 04th December2021, over Westcentral Bay of Bengal, about 320 km south of Gopalpur (Odisha), 390 km southsouthwest of Puri (Odisha) and 470 km southsouthwest of Paradip (Odisha).
It is likely to weaken gradually and move nearly northwards during next12 hours and then northnortheastwards along Odisha coast reaching near Puri around 5th December noon as a Deep Depression. Subsequently, it is likely to weaken further and continue to move northnortheastwards along Odisha coast towards West Bengal coast.
As per the forecast by IMD, heavy to heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places with extremely heavy falls in some places in Puri & Jagatsinghpur District.
Also, IMD has issued orange warnings for the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak Kendrapada, Cuttack, Khordha, Ganjam, Gajapati and Jajpur. Some Parts of the districts may witness heavy to very heavy rainfall.
