Bhubaneswar: May 14: Self Help Groups of the State shall get the opportunity to work in Health Sector in Odisha.
Women of SHGs shall be engaged in medical colleges, district hospitals, Sub-divisional hospitals, Community Health Centres, and Primary Health Centres of the State.
State Government has decided to engage them in hospital diet management, housekeeping, helpdesk management, awareness generation on Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY); Mahaprayana Vehicle Management, and others works.
In this regard, State Health & Family Welfare Department has issued letters to the Dean/Principal of Medical Colleges, CDMOs, and district collectors to identify the SHGs.
Earlier, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik directed the Health and Family Welfare Department to engage SHGs as per the proposal to provide livelihood to the members under 13 activities.
