Bhubaneswar, Nov 29: Aditya Prasad Padhi, who was appointed as Chief Secretary of Odisha on Saturday, will formally assume the office on Monday.
The 1983 batch IAS officer is currently working as Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister.
A formal announcement regarding Padhi’s appointment was made by the General Administration department on Saturday after Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s approval.
Padhi replaces GC Pati, who retires on November 30 as Chief Secretary of Odisha.
Reacting to the new appointment, Padhi said, “I am extremely happy with new assignment. I will try my best to implement the government’s policies successfully.”
Further, Padhi added, “Emphasis will be given to tackle drought situation, implement rural housing and electrification. Besides, major thrust areas will be health, education and employment sectors.”
