Bhubaneswar, Oct 11: In connection of Rs 2.5 crore fraud case, a person named Deepak Kumar Gouda resident of Patrapada, has been arrested by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) on Monday in the capital city.
As per the information, accusation has been made against Deepak for selling a mortgaged property of IDBI bank fraudulently.
Deepak, guarantor of a loan taken by his wife Sanghamitra from IDBI Bank of Janpath Branch, failed to repay the loan amount following which the bank auctioned the property and it was later bought by Brajendra Nath Patra in March 2014.
In December 2014, Deepak sold that property fraudulently to three person named Maheswar Majhi, Binod Bihari Majhi and Goutam Parida.
After getting to know about this, Brajendra filed a complaint against Deepak. Police arrested Deepak and produced him before the court on Monday. As per the High Court order, a case under section 467/468/471/420/120(B) IPC was registered.
