Bhubaneswar, Aug 9: With the opening of one more sluice gate at the Hirakud Dam this morning, a total of 19 sluice gates are now open at the reservoir for release of rainwater reserves.
As per the information, the water level stood at 614.47 foot at the Hirakud reservoir by 10 am today against its water holding level of 630-foot.
Notably, following the standard procedure every year, the excess water above the 610-foot level is released from the Hirakud reservoir. Accordingly, earlier this year on August 5, the excess water had been released from the reservoir.
