Orissa High Court granted interim protection to Cine Director Chandi Parija and Producer Subrat Nayak.

Bhubaneswar: July 25: The Orissa High Court today granted interim protection to Odisha film director Chandi Parija and film producer Subrat Nayak. High Court in its order has ruled that Police cannot arrest Parija and Nayak until further order. The Court fixed the next date of hearing in Nayak’s case for August 18 and Parija’s matter for next week.

It is to be noted here, Television Actor Sarmistha Priyadarshini has filed a complaint with Mahila Police, Bhubaneswar on June 26 against director Chandi Parija, Tapas Sargharia, event manager Bapi Jena, Producer Subrat Nayak, husband-wife duo and tele-serial Producers Nihar Samal and Bini Samal alleging that they were sending lewd texts on social media platforms, seeking sexual favours and threatening her of dire consequences. She had also alleged that Bapi Jena was forcing her to spend a night with her in a hotel while Chandi Parija and Bini Samal were threatening her to ruin her career and eliminate her.

Bhubaneswar Mahila Police Station had registered a case under section 354, 294, 506 and 34 of IPC on June 26. Commissionerate Police had served notices to six persons on June 27. Further the actor on July 4 filed another complaint at the Mahila Police Station and alleged that she was receiving threats to her life.
