Bhubaneswar, Dec 25: Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissioner of Police R.P.Sharma on Friday informed that nabbed Al-Qaeda operative Maulana Abdur Rehman alias Katki never visited Odisha Secretariat.
“It wasn’t Al-Qaeda operative Rehman, but a Cuttack CDMO peon also named as A. Rehman,” the Police Commissioner said.
He said that it has been found out after scanning CCTV footages and records of the State Secretariat.
The Cuttack CDMO peon is also named A. Rehman and was on official tour on October 7 this year at about 11.15 am, the Police Commissioner informed, adding that he had been deputed by the Cuttack CDMO with an official file to be dealt with by an additional secretary of the Health department on the day.
He also made it clear that, even arrested Rehman now in police remand has himself revealed before the Delhi Special Cell Police during interrogation that he has never visited the Odisha Secretariat in his lifetime.
