A Hyva truck collided with a stationary car from behind at Powerhouse Square in Bhubaneswar, dragging the vehicle approximately 20 metres while the driver remained trapped inside. The incident occurred as the car was halted at a traffic post, awaiting a green signal.
Preliminary reports indicate that the stationary car was rear-ended by the Hyva truck. The force of the collision propelled the car forward, and the truck continued to drag it across the junction for approximately 20 metres before both vehicles came to a stop.
According to sources, the collision resulted in severe damage to the car. Despite the severity of the crash, both the driver and owner remained uninjured.
The accident caused a temporary disruption at the busy junction, impacting traffic flow and drawing local residents to the scene.
Eyewitnesses reported that the car was dragged along the road, leaving visible marks in the vicinity of the traffic post.
Reports indicate that the Hyva truck driver informed police and local residents that fatigue may have contributed to the accident. He acknowledged driving throughout the night without adequate rest and failing to observe the stationary vehicle at the red signal.
