Bhubaneswar, May 18: On July 6, allegedly accused rapist Bitihotra aka Bitti Mohanty will walk out free from the Rajasthan high court as the latter has slapped down the parole violation case filed against Mohanty. He had been accused for raping a German fellow student. Mohanty is the son of former Odisha top cop BB Mohanty. Mohanty is currently lodged in Jaipur jail. His counsel Sarthak Nayak informed this to media. He further stated that the case has finally come up after a long span of seven or eight years as the Supreme Court has already granted Mohanty leave. Although the SC had granted him leave, the parole violation case hindered Mohanty’s release. The jail authorities refused to free him pointing out that the SC has only freed him on rape case and not the parole jump case. Mohanty had been given seven years of imprisonment by the Jaipur court but he escaped in 2006 upon jumping the parole on the ground of visiting his ailing mother. After seven years, he was rearrested in Mar 2013 by the Kerala police from Kannur where he was working in a bank on a fake identity. Mohanty had been accused in Mar 2006 for raping a 26-year-old foreign national in a hotel in Alwar, Rajasthan.
