Bhubaneswar, Dec 6: Yesterday, All India Congress Committee (AICC) spokesperson Shakeel Ahmad came down heavily on Prime Minister, Narendra Modi over demonetization of Rs 1000 and Rs 500 notes.
Addressing a press meet at Congress Bhavan here, he said the Prime Minister is squarely responsible for ruining the livelihood of 5 crore people due to demonetisation. He also referred to the death of 80 people while standing in queues before banks to exchange old currencies and held the Prime Minister responsible for their death.
Alleging that the BJP prior to the announcement on demonetisation had bought lands in various places across the country, Ahmad demanded a probe by the joint parliamentary committee into the matter.
