Air Odisha formally starts Intra-state flight operations

Bhubaneswar, Jan 19:  Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik formally inaugurated the intra-state air services at the hanger of old Terminal of Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) here on Tuesday morning.

A nine-seater flight of the Air Odisha took off from the BPIA runway to Sambalpur. The flight would land at Sambalpur and then fly to Jharsguda. From there, it would return to Bhubaneswar.

Flight services from Bhubaneswar to Rourkela and Jeypore would begin from Thursday, sources said.

Notably, the private airliner had conducted a trial run from Bhubaneswar to Sambalpur on December 18 last year.
