Bhubaneswar, Nov 28: In view of the Bharat Bandh called by various political outfits against demonitisation, the state govt on Sunday declared a holiday for all govt and private educational institutions in the state on Monday.
Not only this, even all half yearly exams of classes 6-9 to be held from December 1 has been postponed. The Utkal University exams, which were scheduled to begin today, were also cancelled and will be notified later about the new dates, said sources.
The action was taken as a safety and security measure for the students, said a notification issued from the CMO on Sunday. The district collectors have also been directed by the Home Department to keep an eye on the law and order situation in the state.
