Bhubaneswar, Nov 1:  A decision to put the strike call on hold by All Odisha Private Medical Establishment Forum (AOPMEF) from Tuesday for a month was informed to the media persons by Ajay Mishra, AOPMEF president yesterday after a meeting with Health secretary Arti Ahuja and other officials of the Health department at the State secretariat here.

Mishra said that a promise to examine various demands of the Forum has been given by the government.

As per the allegation of the members of the Forum, despite of their several approaches to renew the license and registrations of the private hospitals, the authorities have failed to do so. Also, amendment to the Fire Services Act had been demanded by the members.

Notably, support was also extended by the Forum to Manoj Nayak, the owner of Sum Hospital. They had also protested his arrest in connection to the Sum Hospital fire tragedy.
