Bhubaneswar, July 29:  Leader of Opposition in the state Assembly Narasingha Mishra declared that on 3rd August, all the non-BJD political parties of Odisha will be attending an all –party meeting in order to discuss the Mahanadi water sharing issue with neighboring Chhattisgarh. The congress MLA, Narsingha Mishra informed that he has arranged the meeting after the CM showed least interest to take opinions of other political parties regarding the probing issue and also regarding the interest of the state. The other parties would be BJP, CPI, and CPI (M).

BJP MLA, Pradip Purohit said that his party would definitely attend the meeting as its their responsibility to fight for the welfare of Odisha’s people even though the party rules in Chhattisgarh. No compromise with the betterment of people of Odisha was also remarked by BJP President, Basant Panda. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan also remarked on this saying that the BJD was using the issue to cover up its failure and hence did not take required action at the time when it was needed.

But refusing to attend the meeting, BJD spokesperson, P K Deb said that to call for such a meeting where other parties would also have a say holds no weight as they would have to wait for the decision of the higher authorities, thus indicating the fact that BJD is totally dedicated towards working for Odisha’s interests only.

Notably, BJD MLAs, MPs and ministers held a demonstration in front of the office of the District Collector at Subarnapur yesterday, and thus submitted a memorandum addressing the President along with the District Collector.
