Soro, Aug 5: After the 4-year old boy on his return from Anganwadi fell into the stream and was drowned away by its strong current, an anganwadi worker named Annapurna Pradhan in Basudeipur Village near Soro was first chased then stripped and lastly thrashed in a brutal manner by a woman for a surprise. No person was spared who tried to help the helpless Pradhan. Adding to it for Pradhan, Balasore Collector, Pramod Das expelled him for creating negligence on duty.

Notably, the boy named as Chandan, son of Laxmidhar Pradhan slipped into the stream and swiped away while he was returning back home from Anganwadi. The villagers did their bit of rescuing him and taking him to the hospital immediately but unfortunately it had been too late by then. As a result, the villagers aggressively bashed into the Anganwadi and thrashed the Anganwadi worker thus taking her hostage. Later, police and the local tehsildar reached the area and rescued the worker thus admitting her to the hospital.
