Angul/Bhawanipatna, Feb 28: Today on the first day of the annual High School Certificate (HSC) examinations at Mahtab High School in Pallahara here, six fake examinees were caught and detained by the cops for appearing the examination in the name of other students. Admit cards had been issued in the names of Ajay Kumar Nayak, D Santosh Reddy, K Nageswar Rao, Pradeep Kumar Das, Sunil Behera and Tapan Goud for giving correspondence examinations. But the school authorities doubted that some other persons are appearing the examination in the name of above six and caught them after checking the admit cards. After preliminary investigation, it was found out that these are residents of Ganjam.
In another incident at Bhawanipatna, 12 students were deprived from appearing the Annual HSC exams due to non-issuance of admit card. Enraged over the matter, the students and their guardians locked the gate and staged dharna outside the school. The parents and students alleged that in spite of filling up the examination form in time, they were not issued admit cards. The school authorities took no measures for the candidates even after they drew their attention in this regard.
