Bargarh, Mar 28: The Odisha police on Tuesday arrested nine persons including two women from Bargarh, for circulating fake note across the state. Nearly Rs 6 lakh of fake currency notes of Rs 2000, Rs 500 and Rs 100 denominations was ceased from their possession.
Informing the media, Bargarh SP Jugal Kishore stated that, the mastermind identified as Krushna Meher, was operating the gang from his residence at Bargarh. He is the person involved in printing of the fake currencies. A computer, along with two scanner, fake blank currency papers, and other printing materials were recovered from his place, added Kishore.
The accused has many other criminal cases on his name.
Notably, the commissionerate police along with the Baripada police in a joint operation, early this month had arrested the mastermind and few others in link with a fake note racket which was running across Odisha. The printing of the notes were all carried out at a slum in the capital city and the police had also seized number of printing accessories along with computers and fake notes.
