Bhubaneswar, Feb 1: An anti-liquor body here held a demonstration the 68th death anniversary of father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi here demanding total prohibition in the State on the lines of Bihar.
The protesters carried banners and placards decrying sale of liquor and held demonstrations in front of liquor shops in the State Capital.
The organizers said that liquor has been cause of rising unnatural deaths and atrocities on women.
Many families have also turned paupers due to consumption of liquor, they said.
They demanded the State government implement the Prohibition Act promulgated by the government headed by late Nabakrushna Choudhury.
