Argument between former Union minister and LoP at the Executive meet

Bhubaneswar, Aug 24: Senior party leader and former Union minister, Srikant Jena bombarded upon the Leader of Opposition (LoP), Narasingh Mishra during the Executive Committee meeting of the State Congress on Tuesday.

As per sources, Srikant wanted to know on whose direction the party legislators prostrated before the Chief Minister in the Assembly three months ago. Answering the question, Mishra said that it was the decision of the Congress legislature party. Due to this argument, word war between the two leaders began and continued till the end of the meeting.

Besides this incident, a road map for Panchayat elections was also made in the meeting.

Supervision work of the Panchayat poll would be handled by the senior leaders.

While giving details for the elections, Deputy Opposition leader, Chiranjibi Biswal said that, PCC would visit the people of Odisha and for this, a planned action has been prepared.

Other matters, like Mahanadi issue, irregularities in ration card, the Nagada issue, farmer insurance and law and order will also reviewed in the meeting, PCC president, Prasad Harichandan informed.

According to sources, Niranjan Patnaik and Lulu Mohapatra did not attend the committee meeting.
