Bhubaneswar, Jan 21: Lieutenant General Balwant Singh Negi, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Central Command paid his maiden visit to the State of Odisha after taking over the reins of the Central Command. The Central Command includes states of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand & Chhatisgarh. During his stay, he visited the Military setup at Puri, Gopalpur Military Station and Military establishment at Bhubaneswar. He was briefed about the latest operational situation, logistics support system and administrative taskings of the Military units in the State.
The Army Commander also called upon Governor S C Jamir at the Rajbhawan on Jan 21. He also met Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik at the Secreteriat. A range of issues pertaining to the Army units and establishments in the State of Odisha were discussed.
The Army Commander had very detailed and fruitful interactions with the respected Veterans and esteemed Veer Naris during the felicitation ceremony. A host of ideas and suggestions were exchanged during the interaction.
