Around Rs. 9 lakh donated by Bahrain Prime Minister to Dana Majhi

Bhubaneswar/New Delhi, Sept 16: After the incident of a man named Dana Majhi from Odisha’s Kalahandi district, carrying his wife’s corpse for 10 kms came into limelight, the Bahrain Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa had extended donation to Majhi and his family following which around Rs 9 lakh cheque has been handed over to Dana Majhi at the New Delhi’s Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The cheque was presented to Majhi in New Delhi by Tariq Mubarak bin Dainah, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Republic of India.

Majhi had reached New Delhi through flight and was accompanied by two staff of KIIT University, Bhubaneswar.

In his statement Majhi said that he would deposit the amount in his children’s account which will be of a great help for their future.

Adding further he said that he did not even know the person who donated the money to him until later he was told that the Bahrain Prince gave him the money.
