Arunachal Governor claims minister tried to assault him

Shilling, Jan 28: In his report in which he recommended President’s rule in the state, Arunachal Pradesh Governor JP Rajkhowa’s has claimed that a minister tried to assault him.

The Governor is likely to file the report in a sealed envelope in Supreme Court at around 2 pm. Rajkhowa has regularly been sending reports to the government on the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.

When the council of ministers went to meet the Governor on December 14, one of Chief Minister Nabam Tuki’s ministers tried to assault the Rajkhowa. Ever since the governor advanced the assembly session to an earlier date in the state, there have been violent protests. Besides, reports on law and order situation and report on defection by MLAs was also given to the government.

The Governor’s report on January 18 had recommended President’s rule in the state.
