Puri, Sept 6: Steel framing work of Jagmohan, the hall facing Sri Jagannath temple in Puri was commenced by the technical core committee of Archeological Survey of India (ASI) on Tuesday.
As per the information, ASI officials, temple technical committee’s two members and Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) conducted a spot inspection after which steel framing work started.
Officials said that in first phase of work, steel framing of seven pockets will be finished. The steel box framing to support and strengthen the pockets will begin in the second phase.
They further added that approval of box frame design is yet to be obtained by ASI from IIT-Chennai.
It is expected that the repair work would be completed by April 2017.
During the construction time from 12 noon to 6 pm, devotees would not face any problem to have darshan, informed sources.
