Assets worth Rs. 3.58 crore uncovered by Vigilance during raid

Cuttack, Aug 10: On Tuesday, during a raid, the Vigilance uncovered assets worth Rs 3.58 crore belonging to a doctor couple, Dr Surendra Senapati, former head of the Radiology department of the Acharya Harihar Regional Cancer Centre and his wife Deepti Samanta.

Based on the allegation of acquisition and possession of disproportionate assets, the raids were conducted at six places, including the house of the doctor couple at the CDA area here.

12 plots in Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and Pune, gold and diamond jwellery  weighing 1250 grams, share bonds worth Rs 23,59,000 , cash worth Rs 14.42 lakh, deposits of Rs 34.51 lakh and fixed deposits worth Rs 9,80000 has been found during the raid, vigilance officials informed.

Notably, the raids were conducted following an allegation of irregularities in medicine procurement at the hospital.
