Bhubaneswar, Nov 3: Women wing of Odisha BJP, the BJP Mahila Morcha launched a protest against the assault of the Bolgarh woman tehsildar by ruling BJD’s Begunia MLA Prasant Jagdev and demanded action. As a mark of protest, the members of the Morcha covered their mouths with black cloth and carried out a silent march. Citing crime against women is on the rise the protestors alleged that the State government has failed to provide adequate security.
Moreover, they raised questions as to why a complaint has not been filed yet against the Jagdev for assaulting a woman tehsildar on duty. Meanwhile, Bolgarh Tehsildar Niharika Nayak filed a police complaint against Jagdev in presence of the OAS officiers association. Nayak filed the FIR with the Khurda SP yesterday.
