Athamalik Bus Incident: Private Bus Owners’ Association meet Transport minister to approve release of bus Owner

Bhubaneswar, Sep 26: Today the members of the All Odisha Private Bus Owners’ Association met the Transport Minister, Ramesh Majhi thus demanding the withdrawal of the case on Rishabh Tripathy, the owner of ‘Maharaja’ bus who had been arrested for the Athamalik bus mishap.  They also sought for action against the police inspector who registered the case against Tripathy. All this was informed by Debendra Sahoo, general secretary of the association.

From October 7, the Association will hold an indefinite strike if the government does not withdraw the case before October 6. Also, the bus owners and staff wore today black badges to mark the illegal arrest of Tripathy.  The Private Bus Owners’ Association’s president Prakash Mishra on Sunday announced that all private buses in the city will be halted for 24 hours, from 6 pm on September 29 to 6 am September 30.
