Bhubaneswar, Jan 12: Yesterday the residents here panicked when a wild boar strayed into the Ruchika Market at Baramunda Housing Board Colony here. It’s stated that the animal had got trapped inside a garden of a house at the Census Colony near the market. After receiving the information, a special team from the Nandankanan Zoological Park immediately arrived at the spot to take the animal in its captivity. However, the officials had a tough time in capturing the animal. After an eight-hour long effort, at last they captured and caged the boar from a shop at the Ruchika Market.

Notably, the Forest Department personnel had said that a herd of 12 wild boars had strayed into the OUAT premises on Tuesday from the Baratapur area. One of them was left behind in the city as the stray dogs chased it.
