Balasore, Jan 15: The Balasore Family Court on Thursday asked the petitioner’s husband Raja shree Mohanty to pay Rs 25, 000 per month as interim maintenance to Barsha Sony who was slapped a dowry torture case against his family members.
Barsha Sony’s advocate argued that Raja shree is working at private company with a monthly pay package of Rs 1.6 lakh. His annual income is around Rs 30 lakh including the profits he earned from his hotel and land holdings.
On the other hand, Raja shree’s lawyer said he will challenge the judgment of family court in the High Court. “Rajashree is a student of a local Law College. As a student, how can he pay such amount”, lawyer said.
Meanwhile, petitioner Barsha Sony said she will decide the next course of action after receiving judgment copy.
Notably, Barsha Sony filed an FIR against her father-in-law former Odisha Law Minister Raghunath Mohanty, her mother-in-law Pritilata, her husband Raja Shree and other members of the family at Balasore town police station accusing them of demanding Rs 25 lakh, a vehicle and other valuables.
