BCCI nominates Kohli for Khel Ratna Award:

New Delhi: May 03: After a gap of four years, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) today nominated Indian Test captain Virat Kohli for the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award and right-hand batsman Ajinkya Rahane for the Arjuna Award.

Earlier, Cricketers Sachin Tendulkar and Mahendra Singh Dhoni won Khel Ratna Award. If Kohli gets it, he will be third cricketer to win this Award.

Other sports bodies and associations are also in the process of sending their nominations. The prestigious Khel Ratna award carries a cash price of Rs. 7.5 lakh in addition to a citation, while the Arjuna awardee receives a cash prize of Rs. five lakh and a citation.
