Bangalore: July 1: D K Hota, Director (Human Resources) of BEML assumed his charge today as the Chairman & Managing Director of the Company. On assuming the charge, Shri Hota said, “I believe that the ‘Make in India’ campaign of Government of India is a golden opportunity for BEML to grow. With the given potential of the skills and experience, I am sure that the Company would rise to greater heights.”Prior to joining BEML, Shri Hota served in Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) for 30 years; his last designation being Head, Natural Gas Division. He is an alumnus of St. Stephens, New Delhi graduating in Economic (Honours) and holds an MBA degree in Human Resources from XLRI, Jamshedpur. BEML, a defence public sector undertaking established in May 1964, is a Mini-Ratna Category-I Listed Company with 54 percentage of its capital held by the Government of India. It is a diversified heavy engineering conglomerate with proven capability in design, manufacturing and marketing wide range of products in three major verticals, viz – Mining & Construction, Defence, and Rail & Metro in a highly competitive environment. BEML has four major manufacturing complex located in Bengaluru, KGF, Mysore and Palakkad and a well laid out Marketing & Servicing network across the country. The Company had achieved an annual turnover of over Rs. 3,600 crore in the past and looking forward to sizable growth in the near future.
