September 27

Bharat Bandh began from Monday morning. Farmers blocked major National Highways including National Highway 1 linking to Delhi with parts of Haryana and Punjab.

The nation wide protests to demand scrapping of three central farm laws got started from the morning in various parts of the country.

The protesting farmers have parked their tractors on highways and major link roads in both Punjab and Haryana.

With this, traffic across Punjab and Haryana is likely to hit badly on Monday. Sources said, police diverted traffic at several places as the farmers blocked the highways.

Heavy deployment of Police have been done to maintain law & order.

The Samyukta Kisan Morcha, an umbrella body of over 40 farmer unions, has called for Bharat Bandh, demanding the repeal of the three farm laws passed by Parliament last year. They have expressed apprehension that they would pave the way for the dismantling of the minimum support price system, leaving them at the mercy of big corporate houses.
