Bhubaneswar: The encounter in Bhubaneswar occurred late on Saturday night when the accused attempted to loot the ATM. The incident happened in Badagada of Bhubaneswar.
The looter has been identified as Deepak Kumar, a resident of Bihar. The bullet hit his left leg in the encounter in Bhubaneswar. He was rushed to AIIMS hospital by the police.
According to information, the Badagada police encountered the notorious looter while he was attempting to loot the ATM in the area. The police was on its routine night patrolling when the looter had come to loot the ATM.
As soon as he saw the police, he tried to flee the scene. He also fired at the police and in retaliation the police fired at him, thus hitting his left leg.
The police then nabbed the accused and rushed him to AIIMS Bhubaneswar in a critical condition. A notorious looter, Deepak is a history sheeter and has many complaints lodged in his name at several police stations in the city.
