Bhubaneswar ring road work to begin within 1 month

Bhubaneswar: The ring road construction work in Bhubaneswar will start within a month, said Minister Prithviraj Harichandan. The land acquisition process for the same will be completed within a month, the Minister further added.

According to reports, the parallel road construction work will be completed by December. The technical process of removing traffic lights from Jaydev Vihar to Nandankanan will be started soon, the Minister added.

The foundation stone of several roads and projects will be laid by June 12 to decongest the city of Bhubaneswar. The tender process for all the projects will be completed within a month. The target is to complete all the projects within a span of two and a half to three years.

The Minister said that the urbanization of the city is the primary concern. Decongestion of roads and convenience of movement in the Smart City shall be of utmost importance, the Minister said.

Earlier in February other than the Bhubaneswar ring road, the Minister had said that the existing lower roads will continue. Further four new lanes on the flyover will be constructed. This road will prove to be a lifeline for Bhubaneswar and its development. Majority of the project will be completed by 2027-28. Work in this regard is underway.
