Bike Rally by BJD in Odisha capital protesting against slashing of state’s Kerosene quota

Bhubaneswar, Apr 10: Today the youth wing of the ruling BJD is conducting a bike rally here as a protest against the slashing of the state’s kerosene quota. The rally was taken out from the state head office of the party till the Raj Bhawan passing through Capital Hospital chhak, Sishu Bhawan chhak, Master Canteen, Ram Mandir and Red Cross Bhawan chhak here. The party also staged demonstrations protesting Centre’s decision ahead of Raj Bhawan, while a delegation submitted a memorandum to the Hon’ble Governor Shri SC Jamir. Nearly 3000 party workers joined the rally along with MLAs and MPs of the ruling party.

It may be noted that BJD had alleged that Centre has deducted 36 per cent of the State’s kerosene quota this year and allotted just 62,112 kilo Litre kerosene that is short of 36,336 kilo litres. On the other hand, Union petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan alleged that the State government is black marketing kerosene.
