Rayagada/Bhubaneswar, June 1: The BJD today accused the BJP party for not inviting CM Naveen Patnaik to grand inaugural function of the mega food park in Rayagada today. Finding the absence of Patnaik in the grand event, the ruling party today termed it as a breach of protocol.

Talking to the media, BJD spokesperson Sameer Dash said, “A CM is the head of a state and chief guest at any government programme inside the state. However, nobody has cared a bit to invite Shri Patnaik or take his consent for the inauguration of the food park at Rayagada. The chief secretary will inform the matter to the centre soon.”

However, with all the allegations flying high, the central party has denied of all charges and has rather accused the CM of being pathetic towards the people of Odisha.

Union food processing minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal, however talking to the media, rejected all allegations and said, “the day before, before leaving for Bhubaneswar, i had personally contacted Shri Patnaik over phone and had invited him to the event. He also assured me of attending the event, if not he will send two of his ministers. It’s very sad that not a single from the state government attended the event”.

Notably, the mega food which was inaugurated today has been built on a huge campus of about 50 acres with a cost of Rs 80 crore at Kolnara block n Rayagada. The park which contains a food processing unit, a cold storage, laboratory etc, was inaugurated by Union food processing minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal in the presence of MoPNG Dharmendra Pradhan and union minister Niranjan Jyoti.
