BJD MPs meet Railway minister Suresh Prabhu

Bhubaneswar, Dec 09:   The BJD MPs led by the leader of the BJD Parliamentary Party Bhartruhari Mahtab met Railway minister Suresh Prabhu at Rail Bhawan and placed their demands of Rs 5576.5 crore for the state in the ensuing Railway budget.

They also demanded introduction of some inter-state trains like Bhubaneswar-New Delhi-Bhubaneswar express train via Sambalpur, Koraput-New Delhi-Koraput via Jagdalpur and Jagdalpur-Bhubaneswar-Jagdalpur passenger train via Koraput.

The parliamentarians too urged the Railway Minister to release financial assistance for modernisation of Bhubaneswar Railway Station at par with world class standard.

“We have submitted a memorandum to the Railway Minister placing our demand for more allocation of funds concerning the East Coast Railway (ECOR) and South Eastern Railway (SER) relating Odisha,” said Mahtab after the meeting.

“We will try to allocate more funds to Odisha in the ensuing Rail Budget,” said Prabhu.
