Bhubaneswar: November 19: BJD MP Bhartruhari Mahatab’s recent statement on party’s possible ties with opposition Congress was the most discussed topic in the political circle of the state and particularly in BJD cadre since few days.
Finally, Chief Minister and President of BJD sought explanation from the MP for issuing such statement to media without prior permission of the party president, a release by BJD Secretary Ananta Narayan Jena informed. He said, “Party president Naveen Patnaik has today sought explanation from the Cuttack MP over his anti-party statements.” Reacting to the information, Mahatab said, “He (Patnaik) is my leader. He has every right to seek explanation from me. I will give reply after receiving the letter.”
It is to be noted here, on November 2, Mahatab said to a local news channel,‘ As Congress has been weakened now, BJD should consider its policy of maintaining distance from the party.’
