Bhubaneswar, Dec 25: The ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) of Odisha is going to celebrate its 18th Foundation Day on Dec 26 at its party headquarters here.
A blood donation camp under the party’s Jeevan Bindu programme would be organised on the occasion beside other programmes.
BJD supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik would inaugurate all these programmes.
Party vice president and former minister Suryanarayan Patra said that the 18th Foundation Day celebration of the party would be a low-key affair this time.
“BJD will celebrate its foundation day at district headquarters of organisational districts tomorrow. Party activists, supporters, MLAs and ministers will participate in the function. The day has been dedicated to farmers. As the state is going through drought and farmers are suffering a lot, the discussion will be on the farmers,” said Patra.
